Hello Montemalaga Eagles! This is Mrs. Tsosie your new principal, coming to you on this beautiful Friday! I hope you had a fantastic start to your school year. Your teachers and our support staff have been working hard each day to ensure that you were able to SOAR during this distance learning time. No matter which program your an Eagle to me and we looking forward to celebrating each of you. I know I'm new to all of you, so here's a little bit fun facts about me: my last name's Tsosie has a silent T in it, just like the word tsunami. It's a hard word to say sometimes, it's Navajo and I'm half native American. My husband and I have 2 children and an Australian Shepherd named Bruce. My favorite food is anything with cheese on it. I used to play basketball for Redondo Union High School and have a CIF championship ring. My hidden talent is that I can catch flies in midair. I know it's a weird talent, but hey you got to have something. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you. You might see me dropping some of your online virtual classes, feel free to give me a quick wave or say hello. I look forward to meeting all of you eventually in person. Enough about me, let's talk about the real spirit that are working hard to support our Eagles during distance learning. First we have Mrs. Fields, our office manager who's always available to pick up your phone calls. Mrs. Harris is working hard in the nurse's office. Mr. Hugo has been keeping our school spotless and we'd like to welcome Mr. Jonah, our new tech aide who will soon be available during lunchtime activities and running our virtual help desk. Even though we are apart we still SOAR together, we spread kindness, we observe safety, we act responsibly, and respect yourself and others. Now I'm going to send it over to some of our amazing students with a quick video about SOAR. I'm Angie I'm in third grade, I'm Alana, I'm in third grade, I'm Alana, I'm in third grade, I'm Jack and I'm in third grade, and we are in Mrs. Blitz's class. I'm Carter and I'm in Ms. Monge's class, and I'm Drake and I'm in Mrs. Reed's class. I'm Luke and I'm in Mrs. Stoddart's class. I'm Colt and I'm in Mrs. Stoddart's class too. Okay class what does it mean to be an Eagle To fly.. no it means to SOAR Spread kindness, observe safety, act responsibility, and respect yourself and others! Great job team! So now let's talk about spreading kindness Spreading kindness is being kind not only yourself but also supporting others who may need some help during these time. We are also available for you in the office. And please feel free to reach out to us at anytime. Oops watch out... Next is observing safety. Safety is a little different when we are online so please observe proper etiquette, show up on time to class and always follow rules. Act responsibly, come prepared to learn, stay on task, use materials and Technology appropriately. Lastly, let's talk about respect. Respect yourself and respect others, use whole body listening in class and stay focused. Together we are soaring even though we are apart! I'm looking forward to a great rest of the school year and I truly do look forward to seeing you.
