And mrs. Reed and they're going to tell us a little more about the 4th grade field trip why did you pick this field trip for the kids we chose his field trip because after doing a little research we discovered that it was a wonderful overview of the entire fourth grade social studies curriculum what is the kids do on this field trip well the students had the opportunity to rotate through seven different stations Each of which represented a different part of California history for example they had the opportunity to take a little ride on the Railroad and learn about the Intercontinental Intercontinental Railroad and also they had a chance to visit a mining camp in which they learned about what it was like to have to survive during the Gold Rush that sounds fun do you think the kid Spider-Man field trip you know I do I talked to several students in my classroom and they highly recommend this field trip being chosen again for next year's group of 4th graders anything you learned from this field trip yes it was a great Cheshire course on California history so there's a lot that I took in on the one of the things that stuck out was about learning about a woman named Helen Hunt Jackson who was one of the first female activists and so that was something new to me that's cool looks like they had fun now back to the studio the fourth graders had a great time they learned a lot next to have another great event these projects are made by the second graders called culture kit Alexis Rosales his class with Lucia Drew and Sophia talking about their second grade culture kit what culture are you representing and why Sophia I'm representing France embarrass myself because my answer pictures of French and Brazilian what about you with you because my grandma and my ancestors are from there what about your Drew on the celebrated doing my culture kid of Native American because well my grandma and my mom are Native American and I have my name for the Native American Sofia explain when your favorite items in your box and why my favorite item is perfume France of the best perfume whenever I go to parties I wear perfume what is the most interesting thing you learned about your culture and or someone else's mine was probably wondering my name tala get cash which means tail maker what if I say stuff in the sea at what advice would you like to give next year students for their project wow or second well for next year's second grade project just don't throw in random stuff get some good effort into it thank you for sharing your project with our school back to the studio I didn't know second graders had so many interesting cultures our next story is about the sweetheart dance I had a chance to talk to Miss pastel let's see what she has to say AMC at the sweetheart dance allowed awesome with friends and stuff today we're here interviewing Miss pastel about the sweetheart dance so why did you start this event a few years ago we have all of our families come out for dance with moms and dads and sons and daughters and grandparents aunts and uncles just to be fun and spend time with your family that's nice thank you for coming in future we get you back in there dancing yeah so I'm afraid you go with very funny I went with my dad so have you heard the announcements mention ballroom dancing in wonder what is find dancing and dancing is an event the fifth graders do here's a clip about it high today is your was coach Kristin from electric kids how and why did you think of the dances well I grew up learning some of the dances cuz I studied an my whole life but to be honest when I had to really learn a certain dancing that I never danced before I used it YouTube great YouTube and that helped me a lot and then of course I modified it so that first graders could do it the fifth graders were a little hesitant but in the end they had a good time this month the fourth graders have a mission paw Jack and I have to pick a location make a bird's eye view in Ville what they want to become the 22nd Mission let's learn more with Aria hello my name is Aria and I'm here with three students accident talking about their mission project so they are trying to build a mission project that Archbishop on table pick Archbishop fonte is the Builder who might want who wants to keep the tradition going on trailer Mission so are 4th graders this year are trying to build the 22nd Mission so where did you locate your mission and why I'm okay turn my mission in Oakmont California because it has many natural resources and seven ponds around me Samuel can you got to pick a modern-day feature that incorporate a natural resources which modern-day secret to do to will I choose a solar panel that power water sprinklers for the garden you got why do you think your mission will be chosen for the 22nd my mission will be chosen because my mission has a lot of play parts that the real Mission had and it before / 8 colors and features that most of the real missions back to Studio wow the 4th graders have such great missions and creativity Valentine's Day was on Thursday February 14th but you know who started Valentine's Day is Malia to tell us my name is Malia and I'm going to tell you about who started Valentine's Day Valentine's Day is a holiday to celebrate love family and friends people usually exchange Valentines with fun items attached to like stickers tattoos pencils and most of all candy but many people question who started Valentine's Day same Valentine's Day with someone who lived in the earth 269 when did Claudius II ruled Rome Claudius II was selfish and greedy so we made a law that people can get married he did that show young boys would fight in the wars instead of taking care of their families shade Valance risked his life to be God's Helper and married up people who wanted to get married they are forcing Valentine was called the patron of of marriage and love back to the studio why was Saint Valentine live in I hope to be brave like him without breaking the law Dayton for next month's great stories we're going to have Saint Patrick's Day and March Madness don't forget about the fun run the Fun Run is the students helped the PTA raise money by running and they're going to help raise program like for programs around the school like assembly's PE equipment and field trips that's all fair today going out
