Welcome to fourth grade. I am looking forward to a great school year ahead! Google Classroom is set up for all students. Students will find this on their student portal (https://portal.pvpusd.net ).
 
Students should use their student ID to log into the student portal to access Google Classroom as well as additional applications we will be utilizing both at home in classroom. 
 
Families, please click the "subscribe" button on the right and check back regularly. This site with be utilized to share up coming events and information about our classroom. There will also be links to Mrs. Stoddart's page for reading & social studies resources and information.

4th Grade Field Trip Tomorrow!

Our fourth graders at Montemalaga will go on a field trip to Point Vicente Interpretive Center tomorrow,  Wednesday, April 2nd.

 

In preparation, please carefully review the important information below:

 

Students should arrive at school on time tomorrow. We will be boarding the buses no later than 9:20 AM.

 

The students will return to campus around noon, in time for lunch. Since we will miss snack recess, students are encouraged to eat a good breakfast before arriving at school.

 

Please have your child wear comfortable clothes, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, and dress in layers. We recommend a sweatshirt or light jacket that can be tied around the waist if it gets too warm to wear.

 

No food, water bottles, money, cell phones, cameras, backpacks, purses, or other personal bags will be allowed.

 

 

We are looking forward to a successful field trip!

FIELD TRIP TOMORROW!

Field trip to Irvine Park Railroad this Wednesday, February 26th. 

In preparation, please carefully review  the important information below: 
  • Due to the location of this field trip, students need to be in the MPR no later than 7:45 AM on Wednesday. 
*Buses will be leaving promptly at 8:00AM. 
  • ​A donation of $31.00 per person would be appreciated to cover our admission costs. Checks may be payable to Montemalaga Elementary School and given to either the front office or classroom teacher.
  • We will be eating lunch while on the field trip. Students who have not previously ordered a sack lunch through the cafeteria should bring a disposable lunch labeled with their names-- this includes water bottles. All lunch and water bottles will remain in the lunch area until lunch time.

Walk Through California TOMORROW @12:15!

Reminder 4th Grade:

Tomorrow is our class' Walk Through CA at 12:15 in the MPR. 

Students may come to school in your costume (if you are wearing one) or choose to change during recess. 
*Lunch will be from 11:30 to 12:00

Parents are invited to come at that time & meet our class in the MPR for the presentation!

Students: Don't forget to bring your expert card and practice tonight! 


February 2025 Dates to Remember!

Monday, February 3rd the 4th graders will be performing their Winter Music Performance. You are invited to join us for the performance in the MPR at 9:45AM.
 
Friday, February 7th the 4th grade students will be participating with their class in Walk Through California. This is an interactive presentation where students will participate in a variety of ways to learn and show their understanding of California history. We will prepare the students in class and they will continue practicing as part of their homework.
We would like to invite you to join us in the MPR on this date during the following times assigned to each class:

Ch. 3 Test & Classwork

THURSDAY 1/30 is our CH 3 Math Test!

The test will cover all lessons in Chapter 3: Fractions & Mixed Numbers 
An OPTIONAL study guide has been posted on Google Classroom (under the Math Resources & Info Section).

ALSO, Tuesday, 2/4,  ALL Chapter 3 Classwork will be collected in class. There is a posted Checklist  (under the Math Resources & Info Section) with all of the classwork and lesson "outputs" that will be collected.
Be sure to check on this to make sure you are up to date!

CH. 2 Test & Classwork

WEDNESDAY 11/13 is our CH 2 Math Test!

The test will cover all lessons in Chapter 2: Multiplication & Division

ALSO, Friday, 11/15,  ALL Chapter 2 Classwork will be collected in class. There is a posted Checklist  (under the Math Resources & Info Section) with all of the classwork and lesson "outputs" that will be collected.

Room 14 earned their 1st Marble Party!

Wednesday, 10/23 is Room 14's marble party!

Students have voted for a tech/board game party with forts!
Student may bring the follow tomorrow to school:

1 piece of technology or 1 board game (Chromebooks will be available for all students)
1 blanket if wanting to make a fort
1 pillow OR 1 stuffed animal 

All items brought must be in a bag or backpack-- no loose items outside!
Any devices will be locked inside the classroom until the party!

Halloween Parade & Fall Festival- FRIDAY, 10/25

Halloween Parade and Fall Festival is Friday, October 25 

Montemalaga's annual Halloween parade will take place on the lower blacktop on Friday, October 25, at 9:30-10:00am. Students can come to school in costume and may bring clothes to change into if needed. No weapons or replica weapons are to be brought to school. Masks may only be worn during the parade. No costumes are allowed that would impair a student’s vision or movement. Parents are welcome to attend. Please sign in at the front office before heading to the lower blacktop.  

The Fall Festival will be after school on Friday, October 25, from 3:00-6:00pm. Get your tickets now, see link below. The last day to pre-purchase wristbands and tickets is Wednesday, October 23 at noon. 

Student Free Day 10/3/24!

No school tomorrow! 
Tomorrow 10/3/2024 is a student free day! 
 
School will resume as normal on Friday 10/4! 

Music & Library on Mondays!

Tomorrow, (9/30) is the first official music class. Student enrolled in the band OR strings class need to bring their instrument TOMORROW and each Monday following. 
 
Monday's are also library day-- student will need to return their books each Monday in order to check out or renew books from our school library.😀

Chapter 1 Test & Classwork DUE!

 
This THURSDAY 9/26 is our first math test!
Your test will cover all lessons in Chapter 1: Place Value of Whole Numbers
An OPTIONAL study guide has been posted on Google Classroom (under the Math Resources & Info Section).
 
ALSO, Friday ALL Chapter 1 Classwork will be collected on Friday morning in Math class. There is a posted Checklist  under the Math Resources & Info Section of Google Classroom) with all of the classwork and lesson "outputs" that will be collected.
