Principal's Update - October 4, 2021

Hello Montemalaga Families!

Happy October! Hopefully, the weather starts to cool down and as we start our Fall activities. Due to the continuous hot days, please make sure to send your student to school with a water bottle. Students may use our fountain and water bottle filling stations to refill water throughout the day. We are gathering a lot of items in our lost and found such as jackets, lunch bags, and water bottles. All of these items will be placed outside this Wednesday, please take time before or after school to look through missing items. All items not claimed by the end of the day Friday will be donated.

There are a lot of great activities happening this month, so don't miss out!

Student Council: The Montemalaga Staff was impressed by all of our students who submitted posters and speeches for the student council elections. A big congratulations to all who ran for elected positions. We are happy to announce the following students as our Fall elected members. Meetings will start later this month.

President: Moses A 5th Grade

VP: Indigo C - 4th Grade

Secretary: Shaila S - 3rd Grade

Treasure: Kaia T - 3rd Grade

Reflections

Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program designed to help students express their feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful not only in school but in life.

If your student wishes to participate in this incredible program, have them create original work in response to the theme "I will change the world by. . . " in one (or all) of the categories.

The primary focus of Reflections is a celebration of creativity, but winners in each category will be chosen and move onto the council PTA round.   Submissions are due no later than October 15th.
