Character Traits: Cooperation and Honesty
Sometimes when we work in small groups cooperation and listening to the ideas of others can be difficult. Our first reaction is to “jump-in” and share our own ideas instead of really taking the time to listen and cooperate with the other members in the group. This week be sure to take a moment to be cooperative by listening, restating, and validating the thoughts of others.
An important skill for learning is using self-talk. Self-talk means talking to ourselves in a quiet voice or in our heads. Self-talk can help us stay on task and focus attention. Thing about what self-talk you might use if you were trying to remember directions your teacher gave you. Remember to use self-talk today when you need to stay focused on a task.
