Reader's Notebooks provide students a place to record and reflection their reading, take notes on mini-lessons and genre, and communicate with teachers and to home about their reading. We weave in standard requirements while helping kids set goals and grow as readers.
Week to week assignments will change. If the format is a letter, we expect a 3 paragraph letter with a title at the top and the date. The 3 paragraphs are as follows:
1. What are you reading? (author, title, brief summary as to where you are, maybe what page you are on)
2. Topic/Standard of the week addressed
3. Anything else you'd like to share or answer the teacher's questions from previous letters
